Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My day to day jobs depend on what I am working on at the time. At the moment I am mainly working on document management, attending meetings etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme I am on. Getting to speak to other members of the team helps to deepen my understanding of the course I am on. Furthermore, the tasks I undertake in my day to day work help me hone my skills on the companies' software packages.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I developed my organisational skills as I have been in charge of organising folders for jobs and ensuring all the most up to date drawings are present.
In addition, I have also gained a better understanding of the network and how it operates.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I feel the programme is very well organised and structured. I know that if I have any issues, I can speak to my learner manager as well as my business manager.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As mentioned previously, if I have any issues, I can speak to my learner manager as well as my business manager. I also have opportunities to go out onto site as well as shadow calls.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training provider does provide support towards the qualifications I am aiming for. There were some issues in the past but these have been remedied.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification helps me get better in my role because it gives me the foundation on which I can build up my knowledge with additional courses etc.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are extra-curricular activities to get involved in with. One of these is going out with the delivery team for a meal. This helps me get a better understanding of those within my team and also build up contacts.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend SSE to a friend?
Yes
Why?
My time at SSE has been really informative and the support I receive is to a high standard. The opportunities to speak too and engage with other teams allows me to build up a wide range of contacts. Furthermore, all the staff I speak to are really helpful and friendly.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to SSE?
My main piece of advice would be to not be afraid to get stuck in. By partaking in activities and going to sites/ engagement days, it helps you not only build up the skills needed for the job, it also helps you build up your transferrable skills such as teamwork, team leading etc.
