Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Day to day, I’m running areas in my store, so either managing the kitchen or the restaurant and drive thru. I look after my employee breaks, well-being, and am personally in charge of our online workplace too.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I thoroughly enjoy it. My coach is so wonderful and supportive, and I feel like the content is really easy to pick up and understand. I can make it work around my schedule quite easily, and I find it very interesting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes. My apprenticeship has definitely helped me reflect on my job role a lot- and has definitely helped me settle into my new role easier. It’s been really helpful in helping me to prep Earle for my shifts, feel more confident, and try different approaches.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well. Meetings are scheduled weeks/ months in advance, but are also flexible. It’s clearly structured with how much to complete each month- and the amount is well-balanced throughout the year.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
A lot. They give me time off the floor, and I’m constantly asked how it’s going and how I’m finding it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Oh, so much. I couldn’t ask for a better training coach, she’s really supportive, fun, but also helps me to achieve what I’m wanting to achieve.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I kinda answered this in the other one, but it does a lot. I find I’m able to reflect on my work after my shifts a lot better, and come into work better prepared. It’s really helpful, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yeah there are. We have volunteering activities, football matches, and have evenings out quite often.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think the pay is pretty decent, the work environment can be busy, but everyone is really supportive of each other.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
Be friendly, be bubbly. It will be busy and stressful at times, and it can be hard being on your feet all day, but it’s really good. The amount of opportunities offered, qualifications to get, it’s really worth it, and I’ve made great friends here.
