Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

right now i am currently in my first year of my apprenticeship and in my first 6 months i was at one of our contracts in Coventry, which was Severn Trent. at that site i was involved with electrical engineering such as installing and replacing lights and desk sockets. after those six months i was then put on another contract, which was amazon, also located in Coventry. at amazon we do a mixture of things but the main thing we do are daily checks on the machines. we also fix other things around the building inside and outside, such as ramps outside. we also go to work two days a week and go to college three days a week. on one day we do our btec for college and on the two other days we do engineering related things such as working in the workshop and doing bench work or working on the lathes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i enjoy many things about it as there are many things to learn about as i am being moved around to different buildings

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have learnt many things such as: how to strip and put back lathe guards and a vice, how to make a ring main, how to use different types of machines and tools, and many more.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

it is well structured. my current manager makes sure things are going well and if i have a problem i am comfortable enough to talk about it to him.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

i receive lots of support. this is because if i have a problem i can ask my manager and he can sort it out, if not then i can ask someone higher up and they will sort it out.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

i receive lots of support at college mainly in my engineering classes as many mistakes can be made when working in the workshop.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

it helps meby the things that i learn in college i can use what i am learning at work too.

everyone is very respectful and there are many things to learn. you can also go very high up within this company and many people say at CBRE that the sky is the limit
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CBRE Group?
if you join this company everyone will welcome you. if you feel upset about anything there is always someone to talk to here and they will always be there for you. if you get an interview be confident and ask questions. there are also many things to learn about so always get the chance to learn about something new, especially when you're working
