Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a Senior Customer Advisor in a telephony based role. I work within the ‘Moments of Truth’ team which entails Bereavement, Representative access (such as Power of Attorney) and Serious illness. I deal with Registrations and Servicing these topics.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my Apprenticeship programme, as it gives me the chance during a busy schedule to sit and reflect back at what I actually achieve; putting it into perspective. It is also great to learn about different areas of the bank outside of my current role.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The department is ever growing, and there are constantly new systems and processes which are updating. I am also developing my personal skills through opportunities I have pushed for, such as being a classroom coach for new starters, and more recently being accepted onto a Manager Aspiration course.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very well structured. I know what is expected of me every month and I know I always get 12 hours per month from my normal job hours to dedicate to the course. I also have monthly check ins with my trainer.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive good support from Lloyds. For example, I came across an Excel Teams course that fell during my normal schedule that I wanted to attend for my own personal development. My manager emailed Planning and they were able to schedule in this time as Apprenticeship “extra time” - Meaning I did not have to make the hour back/ use my Apprenticeship time as it was not part of BAU.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive good support. I have a definite monthly meeting with my trainer and she is always on hand when I have any queries in the mean time. I have an external email access link on my work computer to be able to email her.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification is allowing me to see the bigger picture of the baking industry, and is a great way to be reminded of customer service.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not that I am aware of. I do know, however, that our Company is big on charity and there are networks to get involved with to support.

Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel well looked after while working for Lloyds. There are many external perks outside of our wage that comes as a benefit of being staff. For example, colleague discounts, Colleague share prices, free private health care etc.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
Like myself, you do not need any background in Banking to start a career in Lloyds. As long as you have commitment and enthusiasm to learn.
