Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in asset management, which means I manage a portfolio of clients across renewable and infrastructure sectors. I speak to clients and write papers to recieve approval from our risk teams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed the oppertunity that the programme gave me to explore new elements of my career. Unfortuntely my programme was interrupted by Covid-19, which posed some interested challenges, but overall I'm grateful for the experience.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The apprenticeship gave me a unique oppertunity to develop my hard and soft skills. Through the appreniceship I improved my writing, note taking and exam skills, and through my placements I developed profesional skills such as networking, prioritisation and communication.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The layout of the programme worked well for me. The apprenticeship considited of an exam for the Professional Banker Certificate, and followed with 4 blocks of lectures and an essay for each topic. Once these were completed, I submitted a portfolio and completed an interview. The programme was structured and made sese, and flowed well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer was extremely supportive, giving me the required 20% time to work on the apprenticeship and supporting through witness statements and the interview itelf.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The apprenticeship gave me the context of banking, which I had no experience in at all. It made me a better rounded employee, more capable at approaching my role and able to ask the righ questions/

LBG is a lrge financial institution, which means that it offers a huge amount of oppertunity to those who work there. There are a range of apprenticeships across every sector from data engineering to HR.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
I'd recommend anyone applying to be themselves, relax and remember that you don't need a qualified background to work in finance - there are oppertunities for everyone and the first step is putting your name out there.
