Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves supporting product developers on trial work. This could be creating samples of new products for consumer tests, or completing a trial to better understand our ingredients or processes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the programme a lot both from the work side and also the work colleagues who I work with. Of course there are elements I enjoy less but this is normal for a job and working. There are lots of positives which make it worthwhile!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've learnt a lot of new skills from learning to work with lots of different types of people both within the same function and across different functions, to physical skills of running equipment and making samples.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
There is a clear structure to the programme run by the apprentice lead and this is set up in such a way to provide a solid foundation before moving to learn and gain new skills elsewhere.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is so much support given from having a mentorship programme in place, to regular managerial meetings and general support from other colleagues. Everyone wants to see you succeed both in the job and as a person.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training provider is a huge support. They are always wanting to help and reassure and assist in ensuring you receive the time from your employer for university work as well as that you are able to manage the juggling of work and the degree.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The degree enables me to have a broad range of knowledge and skills and to better understand how different functions work. Without the degree, I would have a narrower understanding and would only know my area of work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Lots! There are so many groups; gym, running, football for sports. There are also groups to support Racial inclusivity, LGBTQ+, early careers and so many more. And lots of colleagues become friends so doing social activities is always possible too.
