4/5 - Skills Development
4/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Standard audit work. Testing of samples, judgmental areas, coaching juniors, planning and completion of audit packs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Professional level exams are sat three at a time, which is very mentally taxing. As a school leaver, the transition from L4 AAT to L7 professional is quite a jump and there is a lot of supporting apprenticeship work to complete

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Learnt extensively. Broad knowledge of various industries, accounting knowledge and managing client relationships.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Organisation has fluctuated due to the Early Careers Department changing constantly the past few years. Seems to be more organised and providing better support now
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support received and available. Supportive managers and colleagues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Plenty of support, some lessons taught in person which is helpful. Other self taught lessons in own time is not preferable but is due to the decision of ECD rather than training provider
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Qualification helps to apply what I am doing as part of work. Benefitscomprehension and allows me to add value
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Social activities are frequently organised. Generally aimed at young adults and thoroughly enjoyed.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Forvis Mazars to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Supportive environment, small enough office to form strong connections with others and receive lots of support.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Forvis Mazars?
Consider the service line you want to go into. Audit is great for breadth, whereas tax is great for depth but is quite specialised.
