Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role as an auditor is to work on the statutory audits of financial services institutions and banks. This involves a range of testing over three phases of the audit; planning, fieldwork and completion.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy aspects of the work I partake in, and I am happy to be a part of a great team. However, moving forward in my career I would like to diversify outside of audit.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned a variety of new skills, including both technical and personal skills. Technical skills include the development of my accounting knowledge, and my practical excel skills. Personal skills include communication, teamwork and coaching.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The firm are very good in terms of the time given off to help revise for exams, and also the trainings administered. Nevertheless, I have had difficulties at times communicating with the Early Careers department as they feel very decentralised from the organisation.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive support from both my line manager and other senior individuals within the firm. Furthermore, as previously mentioned we receive a good amount of help to get us through our exam studies.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
BPP provide excellent tuition classes and resources, and the in college sessions are always brilliantly executed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel as though the skills and knowledge I learn from my qualification make me much better equipped as an auditor. Everything we learn theoretically has a practical implication to my role which makes it extremely useful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There are opportunities on offer, however I have found these aren't advertised brilliantly.
