Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a fairly new team manager, I manage a team of 24 colleagues and deal with everything from behavioural issues, coaching, training to supporting my colleagues’ development and supporting their growth, it’s a very busy role and resilience is key.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoyed the programme, it fitted in perfectly with my role, the work wasn’t easy but seemed to be perfectly timed as issues arose and it was great to use my recent experience to answer questions in my reports and professional discussions

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I started the apprenticeship program around the same time I started in role as a manager and the subjects came around at the same time as similar issues were arising in my role so it helped me to find my confidence in my actions.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The majority of the course was great. I dreaded the workshops, they were genuinely not relevant to my course, they were more suited to the English cohort and the tutor kept preparing us for a final project we didn’t do and he didn’t seem to understand that.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I didn’t need help from my employer. Just time out for the business which I just organised myself.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They were there if I needed them but I didn’t need it, this was the right course at the right time for me
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
This gave me the confidence in my decision making and thinking about the bigger picture. It taught me to ask more questions and fully understand the impact of potential decisions I needed to make on the colleague and the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes I became an apprenticeship ambassador and got involved in events mainly speaking to young people considering their options after school and this put me in contact with other colleagues going through their own career and learning journeys.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have worked here for
Many years and realised it’s only me holding myself back and if I have the confidence and ask for help, it’s available to me, I just need to ask the right people.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
If you don’t ask, you don’t get. Don’t be afraid to put your hands up and volunteer for anything. The more you get involved with, the more people you’ll meet and the more that helps you to progress.
