Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I sit on a senior leadership team and manage the financial budgets across a portfolio of technology change activity. My daily interactions are updating senior stakeholders, working with team leaders to understand their financial position, and keeping an outlook on risks and opportunities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The programme was excellent, however balancing alongside a full time job was very challenging.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, the academic learning gave me lots of theory which I have been able to apply to my core role, to enhance my skill set.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Administrative organisation could have been improved.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I changed line manager a few times throughout the apprenticeship, and initial support typically varied by person. Some needed to be educated more on what the apprenticeship involved and the time I needed to complete it, but all were supportive and helpful in the end.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lots of support given by the university, access to materials and a network of professional & helpful professors.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Helped to give me more strategic view of the work, understanding of its linking to business principles, and how to harness different academic theory to perform better in my role. Helps me hugely to hold my own in senior meetings.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are colleague networks which host lots of events to get involved with and meet people. There's a strong charitable focus which gives opportunities to volunteer and participate in events or challenges you might not normally experience.
