Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Currently I am still developing and so am not doing too much project management by myself, but I have had involvement with project managers and I am starting to take on projects of my own. My day to day life is helping my team primarily with Ad-hoc work, and working on my university degree at every opportunity I get.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I really enjoy my programme. This is what I have wanted to do as a career for a very long time, and this prgramme gives me the opportunity to jump straight into it. My one point for development could be that the majority of university work is done online, and I would like to have some face to face learning.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed skills in communication and timekeeping, and I have developed my confidence massively. I look forward to the many skills I have yet to develop and I can see how my apprenticeship with Toyota will help me do so.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very well organised. It is the same course every year and I am not the first to be doing it, so it has been developed and strengthened over time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is more than enough support at every desk in my office. I cannot praise the level of support at Toyota enough
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My success manager at the university is always just an email away and has fast responses, so I always have someone to go to. On top of this, we have tripartite reviews which help to see where I'm at.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It builds a strong foundation to be built upon by my personal experiences, and helps to guide me when I am confused, and helps me to develop a proper project management approach rather than what is current standard procedure, meaning I can benefit my business in kind
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There's no end of it

All of the above, plus the company is dominating its industry which is exciting to be part of, plus we have a lot of things to be excited about for the future, so now if a fantastic time to get involved and be part of the journey to the next evolution of the transport world.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Toyota GB?
Be confident, be yourself, push yourself to be ever better. there is a word called Kaizen, which means continuous improvement in Japanese. This is a key part of the Toyota Way, and so if you are able to embody Kaizen, you cannot go far wrong
