Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a part qualified audit trainee, my daily responsibilities involved assisting audits and supporting seniors to manage the team. Would often be on site audits, visting clients and interacting with clients in performance of the audit
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The college days out of the office is incredibly beneficial to the study program. The office has a full appreciation of the process and everyone in the team is very respectful of understanding how important these college days are so able to work around them as needed. Keeping up with the compliance aspects of the apprenticeship can be a little trickier to fit in with not much dedicated time for this

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Communication, time management, professional behaviour and gained a core understanding of accounting

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Reasonably well managed considering the heavy time constraints which come with audit work
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Currently being reorganised to take the pressure off of senior management with significant time constraints so whilst already sufficient, looks positive to improve further in future (ie turn around on training ladders and availability for ethics meetings)
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
First Intuition is a really good training provider, support is sufficient and turnaround time on marked exams is faster than other training providers which is really important
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The core understanding of accounting is fundamental. But being able to mix with such a large number of other trainees creates a really positive and supportive community with a mutual understanding when it comes to balancing work and study
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are extra activities (in particular ED&I communities which create really positive impact) but as yet with time constraints of work and study I have not been able to utilise these as much

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Crowe UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Mainly for the community of trainees making it a supportive environment for balancing work and study
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Crowe UK?
Being able to take the initiative to learn is so important, you need to expect to have to work hard and be ready to do so. Prior work experience in an office to any extent would be super beneficial and will make your application stand out
