Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Processing and assessing payment applications from subcontractors, updating our master workbook for each project to be able to monitor costs. Communicating to the Client regarding commercial matters.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
The support from the University was extremely poor. We had a very disruptive class and lecturers that didnt seem to care as we were only part time at the university.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
The only skill I learnt whilst on the course is the setting out module, however I am not an engineer so this is not beneficial to me in my role as a QS.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Not very well structured, more than several occasions we would turn up and there is no room booked for us to use or the fact that the lecturers would not turn up with no notice.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Towards the end of my course I received a lot of support from work. However I had no idea that there was a team to support me as that would have maybe made the experience a lot smoother.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
There were a few occasions where we had a few revision sessions to go through what will more than likely come up in the tests and that was not the case, which was disappointing considering we had a 'stand in' lecturer for the year who openly admitted he had never taught before.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I do not feel like it has impacted my role. I was disappointed to see that the course was more based on house building, which is irrelevant to me working in the rail industry. I thought my company would have told me this when offering me the course.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
No
