Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an internal audit apprentice, my day-to-day involves researching audited areas, assessing risks, performing substantive testing, raising observations and regularly communicating with the audited areas to assign actions to address and observations made. Following audits completion reports are then created sharing the observations and any actions with the relevant areas.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed the apprenticeship; the balance has been good for study time and regular day-to-day work. Working in a small team has also enabled me to get work through the full audit process and developed my learning on the job.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

In my job i have developed time management skills, communication skills both verbally and written and learnt new skills such as prioritisation, capacity management and resilience. I have also gained a better understanding of risk management. On the apprenticeship I have learnt practical skills to preform my day-to-day tasks along with skills in ethics and ingrity.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured and there are regular monthly sessions and one-to-one tutor session to discuss the progress so far and any feedback. There are also 10-12 week calls with the tutor, my line manager and me to discuss the progress and gain further feedback.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have had a good level of support, and they are there if I need further support either on the apprenticeship or day to day work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have a lot of support from the training provider, and we discuss regularly if I am on track to achieve my target grade and they suggest any areas for improvement and how to improve my skills to prepare me for the end point assessment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The more I learn through my apprenticeship I notice an improvement in my performance of my job and gain a better understanding of the process and how to work effectively and efficiently. There have also been opportunities to feedback to the team and improve our process based on what I have learnt on the apprenticeship.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

So far, I have been supported and have had many opportunities to develop my skills as an internal auditor but also my professional skills in general.
