Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am an apprentice paralegal, so essentially, I assist other team members on their cases. Each day is different, some days you can be reviewing expert reports and then chasing medical records. I am also on the new enquiries rota, so any new enquiries we have I will deal with them on a particular day and deal with the client.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Irwin Mitchell to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Irwin Mitchell provide the best hands on experience for any trainee. You are exposed to so many different elements of the law and how it is practiced. I would recommend the firm itself, as everyone is very professional and friendly to both clients and colleagues. You are also entitled to volunteering days, which are great to give back to the community as a team.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Irwin Mitchell?
Be honest and be yourself. At the end of the day, you are going to be dealing with people whilst they are going through something really daunting and emotionally-draining - you have to showcase that you can handle and deal with this - professionally but can show empathy. Explain why the firm should pick you.
