Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Resolving employee queries through answers, leading etime training
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy working with the company and being part of a team, I’m given a decent amount of responsibility which makes me enjoy the programme too

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes. Lots of new excel skills developed and learning how to use answers

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The college side of my apprenticeship isn’t the best structured, I feel like we don’t really know what tasks we have coming up next, the layout of the course, and our deadlines before our final end point assessment
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my manager with my college work and daily responsibilities in the work place, she is always available to talk wether it’s more on the personal side or to do with a work task. We also have weekly meetings to check in.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my college assessor and we have meetings every 5 weeks to check in and I feel like she gives me a lot more guidance than my college tutor.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I don’t feel like my business admin course does contribute to my role, many things we study don’t relate to my role and I can’t see a correlation between the curriculum and my everyday role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
We don’t have any set up extra curricular activities that i am aware of in the office, however I am aware of the gym available to access at my workplace and there are often networking events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Cummins to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think Cummins is a great environment for someone starting off in an office role at a young age, there are many support systems in my team set up and I have expanded my network a lot. There are many opportunities at Cummins to learn about new teams, the company as a whole, and meeting new people.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cummins?
Prioritise your workload alongside your college work to ensure you don’t fall behind. Take advantage of all the opportunities; networking events, the benefits within the company.
