Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Conducting investigative research, station operations and presenting - I've done it all! The scope of the scheme is vast so it's hard to tie down what you do on a daily basis, it can vary massively in a short space of time, which keeps you on your toes!
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Thoroughly enjoy the programme and the ability to tailor placements to your liking, whilst still managing to tick off the required competencies and skills of the apprenticeship and organisation. There really is something for everyone. I like the independence and responsibility you are given when taking on work
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes. I feel much more confident than when I started and can initiate conversations with executives and frontline colleagues alike with much more ease than I would've imagined to be possible
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

There can be some uncertainty regarding upcoming placements but you are usually given sufficient time to preference your ideal next placements and wait for confirmation of what is possible. Communications are good and finding support where needed is straightforward
How much support do you receive from your employer?

When I started I was very anxious about my ability to perform and social interactions but my line manager and the staff I'm working with have always been welcoming and reassuring, whilst also giving me enough space to develop my ability to effectively complete tasks. Receiving support never feels like a burden on anyone - it's the sort of organisation where people like to share knowledge and build each other up
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

About the right amount. You are not showered with help right off the bat but if you do need any support, it's given to you. Autonomy is given to work on assignments, but getting assistance isn't difficult when required
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

So far I don't feel I've done enough of the qualification content to comment, but I can envisage it becoming more useful as time goes on
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Plenty. TfL is a very sociable company and there are many opportunities to network with colleagues and learn new things

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Transport for London?
Be yourself! Be open about what you can bring to the table and what you'd want to see and experience at TfL. Try and immerse yourself in the company's ethos and don't be scared of not knowing the answer to something, we're always learning at the end of the day.
