Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
o Performing production line balances aiming to reduce manning levels, improve operative utilization and to reduce or eliminate line bottlenecks.
o Running projects to improve area and plant efficiencies.
o Having a good understanding of level loading, throughput, take time, work in process, and process efficiency level.
o The creation of standard work methods for new and current production lines
o Assisting with the design of safe and efficient workstations for manufacturing environments, using plant layout, ergonomic, and work-station design principles.
o Running continuous process improvement projects to eliminate waste, improve quality, and reduce production time and cost by using continuous process improvement tools. Focusing the reduction or elimination of the 7 wastes (Over-production, Waiting time, Transportation, Over-processing, Inventory, Motion and Defects).
o Conducting and coordinating work measurement studies to develop a work standard using pre-determined time elements and system guidelines.
o Leading, mentoring, and supporting Industrial Engineering Technicians to achieve targets.
