Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I install different types of routers, access points, phones, etc. I also troubleshoot faults and resolve networking issues for customers. I always interact with customers and discuss what is needed to be done on that job. I also work on customer projects which mainly involve installs and migrations and also interact with BT's offshore team and commissioning team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my programme as I have learned a lot of very useful information and continue to do so.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned a lot about networking including the components of a network, IP addressing, cabling, etc. I have developed my communication skills when talking to customers especially when they don't completely understand networking. I have also developed my troubleshooting skills, using different methods and finding the root cause of the issue and eventually resolving the issues.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My role is very well organised as I have received plenty of learning materials and training courses that helped me to develop. My day to day job is very well structured I am given multiple jobs each day that have specific timings so I can plan my day out efficiiantly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have received a lot of support, I am always able to have time to go through notes and practice on routers to improve my knowledge. I am also given opportunities to go out on different jobs which better prepares me for working on a variety of my own jobs.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
my training provider gave me a lot of support giving me feedback on my projects and plenty of online courses to improve my knowledge. I had monthly meetings to review my progress which allowed me to know what I need to be doing and where I am at in terms of progress.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It defiantly helps me a lot as I know much more about the devices i work on and how a network works as a whole.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
In my patch there isn't really any extra-curricular activities however the apprenticeship team do organise meet ups and events for us to take part in.
