As a project Manager Apprentice is support Project Managers perform the necessary steps to completing a project. Within engineering, project deliverables can vary so much that every project is almost entirely different which makes the job incredibly fun and interesting.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes. Engineering was entirely new to me when I started so I have learnt a lot about various different aspects eg. construction, electrical, mechanical etc. Within Project management it is very important to be organised, a confident speaker and a good leader in order to professionally conduct a team/

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think the pace which I have been introduced to projects has been very well suited to a new starter with little/no experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My line manager is very attentive and always attends monthly 1-1 meetings to discuss my pathway and next steps.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

University lecturers are happy to help as soon as possible. They aren't as available as my line manager but they do offer support and documents to help with assessments.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It provides the theory towards my practical work life. It makes me familiar with processes before I encounter then which is helpful as I feel more confident.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is apprentice events, volunteering events, sports teams, professional networking, coffee mornings, webinars, social groups, walking groups. etc the list is endless.

Why?
Its a great place to work and everyone is friendly with great work ethic. There are great benefits and its very flexible. They invest time into the AZ values and make sure everyone is happy and safe at work mentally and physically.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
Research the company, particularly the AZ values. Be yourself and let them know you are a good person and good fit for the workplace.
