Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to provide data and insights of customer behaviour and actions to facilitate business decisions and inform stakeholders. I use SQL code to retrieve data that is required and manipulate this to show the insights requested. I sometimes present this in a Power BI dashboard where requested.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have thoroughly enjoyed my programme. It has given me the opportunity to learn on the job and showcase my learning practically through real work requests for stakeholders. The training from Firebrand has also been effective in growing my knowledge as well as my confidence.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned coding skills and visualisation skills such as with SQL and Power BI. I have also developed my Excel skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have understood the structure of my programme from the beginning and have kept in mind the rough milestones that I needed to be at in terms of project submissions and my EPA period. My Firebrand coach also helped me to stay on track. The residential weeks were also spaced out effectively.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has been very supportive in terms of ensuring I have enough time to complete the necessary work, as well as taking my 20% off the job study time. They have been especially supportive during my EPA period and have made sure I have all the tools required to complete successfully.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My Firebrand coach has been supportive throughout the apprenticeship and kept me informed. I have been able to ask questions and schedule adhoc calls where extra support is needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has provided me with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed in my role. I feel confident in my ability as a result of this and the learning that has taken place has been put into practice in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am part of the Culture Squad within my team. We look at topics such as learning, happiness, feedback and more. The topic I lead on is Wellbeing which I have really enjoyed. I have become a Wellness Advocate for my team which I have found to be very rewarding.

LBG is a great place to work. The culture and people have made working at LBG a wonderful apprenticeship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
To be yourself and show enthusiasm. I would advise to not feel put off by having minimal knowledge in the subject area as you will be taught everything you need to know in an apprenticeship. In terms of generally working for LBG, it is not a corporate culture that would be expected of a bank.
