Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role as a HR apprentice involves me going into different placements every 5-6 months and working with different teams. Currently I am within the Skills and Employment team working where I meet with current apprentices and training providers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme as I feel it gives me a good balance of learning and working. I feel I am given enough support and can always go to my sponsor/buddy if I have any issues.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a lot about stakeholder engagement as well as new skills in Excel which have been useful when analysing data.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very well structured and we always know what is coming next. The learning part is also well planned out and we are given plenty of time to hand in assignments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
There is a lot of support in place as an apprentice. You have a buddy, sponsor, lead sponsor, placement manager and development advisor who you can turn to if you need help with anything.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Kingston College is great and the tutor always makes sure we have enough time to complete assignments and lets us know of deadlines in advance. The tutor is always helpful when we have any questions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Parts of the work correlate well as the previous module was about analysing data and this helped me in my day to day role when I needed to analyse data. I think the correlation between the module you are studying and the way it affects your work is dependent on what placement you are in.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes plenty of network groups to join and plenty of work socials that we attend. There is a real sense of apprentice community from past and present cohorts.
