Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On-Site checking steel reinforcement against drawings. Using a total station to monitor movement/ check precision of works to be carried out. Using CAD for levels of site and using Revit to model the entire ground levels.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme to a good extent. It offers the exact real-world skills I would need to carry out the job I would do if having gone to university full time.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt various new skills including the use of a total station, reading design drawings and the use of software’s such as CAD and Revit.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is structured very well-structured offering plenty of training; not just learning about one specific role but learning about the role of others.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive good support from my current team (manager).
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Support is there only when asked, working towards a university qualification is tricky, there could be a specific course to help with this.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I would say that the training provider keeps my maths and English skills in good shape, and up to date. However, I have found this to be the other way around whereby my role at work helps me with my qualification - this could be subjected to the modules I am currently studying.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
A few activities, more or so with volunteering.
