I work as a project manager helping to organise works, log defects and ensure the project is moving towards targets. The project I work on is in Shetland at the Kergord HVDC Converter Station.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The training feels very remote. I enjoy my work but the course is lacking in many areas.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Some related bits, mainly the course is learning a specific way to pass an "awkward" exam. We have spent 6 months working on answering questions in a specific manner to cater to this. Any job relevant learning feels a coincidence more than deliberate.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have volunteered at a few events (careers fairs). I am also volunteering to help Oxfam in the summer.

Would you recommend SSE to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Seems a good company to work for. The staff are generally happy and the opportunities are great.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to SSE?
Be prepared for a long wait. It took me almost 4 months from applying to getting accepted. Hang in there!!
