Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
It has been an engaging and insightful week, packed with detailed activities that helped us in navigating the complex world of Investment Banking.
As someone studying a non-financial degree, I found that the training sessions allowed me to develop my knowledge and skills. Moreover, all the speakers gave us an insight into the different business divisions of the bank and discussed the main challenges and best practices that they daily face in such a fast-paced environment. The training and the networking sessions I enjoyed the most were focused on deal-making across a number of products and verticals in M&A, DCM and ECM.
Our day-to-day schedule would involve networking sessions with current analysts & associates, group activities to get to know our peers, and training and interactive sessions that would enhance our understanding of Investment Banking.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was an insightful experience that allowed me to explore three of the the Investment Banking divisions available at Deutsche Bank: Company Research, FIC and Origination & Advisory. We were provided with information about what these divisions include, and analysts and associates would explain their daily schedule to us. It was an interesting deep dive into Deutsche Bank as a firm as well, as we got to know the values the bank is committed to,

I have definitely improved my analytical and team working skills while actively taking part at interactive activities that tested our cognitive reasoning and creativity. Moreover, I also improved my technical understanding of what the company does on a daily basis.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Deutsche Bank is an inclusive firm, and this was made clear throughout the Spring programme. The team was really great, friendly and professional and supported us every step of the way. The speakers were available and also asked us to reach out to them on LinkedIn to ask any questions we might have.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I appreciated it a lot. It was my first experience of this kind, and I found it insightful and fun at the same time. Even if it was online, we had a lot of group moments that allowed us to establish meaningful relations.
