Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My daily responsibilities include updating records/spreadsheets to ensure that insurance premiums owed by clients of Irwin Mitchell are charged correctly. Additionally, I communicate with internal stakeholders such as case handlers to help with any inquiries regarding policies and to confirm policy details prior to billing any charges.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am really enjoying my programme so far as I feel I am developing and learning new skills regularly that will help me going forward in my professional career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Through working at Irwin Mitchell, I have improved my professional communication skills through having regular communication with fellow stakeholders. Additionally, I have become more proficient in using applications such as Excel, as I am required to use this on a day-to-day basis.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure of my programme has been made as flexible as possible by my Line Manager allowing me to take study leave at times that suit me best and giving me as much support as possible where needed.

My Line manager is very supportive of both my daily work as well as my studying for my qualification.

My Damar learning coach is always available for any questions I have regarding my apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Through studying for my qualification, I have become more aware of role specific terminology and my understanding of financial rules and regulations have grown significantly. Which has helped me greater understand my role and its importance within the company.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

My team often have social activities to outside of work, additionally we utilise our volunteering days permitted by Irwin Mitchell to participate in things such as sponsored activities or volunteering at animal shelters, etc.

Irwin Mitchell has been a great place to work from my experience and can help you achieve various qualifications whilst working for them. Additionally, from my experience everyone from Irwin Mitchell has been welcoming and friendly which has helped me integrate into the team quickly and smoothly.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Irwin Mitchell?
I would advise being open and friendly during interviews to let interviewers get an understanding of who you are as a person as it will help them determine if you are someone they want to add to their team.
