Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Reviewing data via excel, sending emails out to any colleagues that need to complete any data capture that the company requires, maintaining power apps applications and attending frequent calls regarding the state of in-house build apps. I also complete any research necessary as per request from my team, take meeting notes, produce any necessary power point decks, creating guidance information for use of in-house resources and any further requests that my team may have depending on their needs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed the program quite a bit as it put me out of my comfort zone in the sense that I got to know a lot more people who I may not have much in common with, and I had the opportunity to learn a lot about the world of work.

I have further developed my maths and english skills from their level upon finishing my A-level qualifications

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme was fairly well organised, however lacked in certain areas and in particular the order of the exams which we took, as some of them would have made more sense later on in the course as opposed to near the beginning of the course, due to their relative difficulty.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A good amount, however more support would be appreciated in the way of the learning part of the apprenticeship, as we were largely expected to figure it out on our own/by seeking out previous apprentices whom may have had a very different experience to us and were able to provide limited help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A small amount, we are largely expected to figure out how to do our qualifications on our own with little to no support from our training provider, who generally points us towards sample coursework which is readily available on cii, or practise exams, which I have found were not very useful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am able to learn a lot of overall general knowledge from those qualifications which helps me to better understand some of the terms used around me and in my own work, which has helped to solidify the understanding I have for the work which I produce and how it impacts Aon as a whole.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are a number of clubs, be it sports or any general activities within my company to get involved in, and also a number of business resource groups which fight to advocate for the rights of minorities, and push for equality across the company as a whole internationally and in the UK.

Would you recommend Aon to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Whilst not ideal, the programme has provided me with a solid foundation on which I can begin to build my career. In addition the programme has helped me to understand the concept of the insurance business which I had little to no knowledge of when i first started, which is why I would recommend the Aon Apprentriceship programme.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aon?
Be yourself, try hard, when you face a challenge or a hurdle in the way do not give up, whilst there may be times when you may feel that things are too hard, in time you will understand that those targets set are achievable and will help you in your life journey going forward.
