Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Learning about the bank through video and in-person presentations. These gave me a good insight into Lloyd's workplace environment.
I also completed 5 units of ART training through my 15 days at Lloyds. These helped me with similar things that the presentations did.
Overall, I loved the experience here.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
To a pretty far extent. My only real issue came in the short length of the team tasks we had. And with how the teams were picked, I was placed with the same people each task (mostly).
I think not everyone on the placement cared as much as some people did, which may have limited others too.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I came in wanting to develop my speaking skills (not just in a presentation setting) but also I wanted to push myself during the behind the scenes aspects of the team tasks.
I think I did build my speaking skills but I think in the same team tasks I was limited purely by who I was put with.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised, from my personal experience. I got a laptop, it was set it up before the halfway mark of week 1, and it was fairly easy to use.
The time table wasn't changed much, and the individual tasks and presentations were very useful and engaging.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We received a lot of support outside of the team tasks. I understand that they were meant to be independent work to build our team building skills. But with no-one supervising them some people didn't want to work, and didn't really have to.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I am very happy with the skills that I did build during the bootcamp. I am more excited to see how they are expanded up on during the 8 week placement.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It found me a role, being data engineering, and that was very important for me. Going in I didn't mind what I was put into but it interests me
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There were a lot of external sites, but so much out of work activities

Yes
Why?
I think it was a very helpful experience, and I'm glad I was accepted into it
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
Just to be mindful going into the teams tasks, make sure you do your best, but don't expect the world from your team mates
