Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Working in assurance, performing audit work on various clients. All the the audits I have been involved in has been the auditing of each client's pension scheme.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The work is enjoyable and great for development. A variety of client work brings new challenges to each engagement. The people you work with is the best thing about placement, getting to collaborate and learn form such fantastic people.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

This is my third placement at PwC, all of which have been working on the audit of pensions. This placement has therefore been a development of my existing skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

This programme is really well run and provides a blend of university learning and real world practical experience. The PwC placements give interns an opportunity to not only learn about the processes involved in an audit, but a chance to develop your professional skills in the workplace.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Both PwC and Newcastle University provide continuous support throughout placement. Wellbeing calls are available at team catch ups are held on a regular basis for both client and non client work purposes.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The ICAEW are there if required for anything that you would like to discuss with them, whether it be for university or placement related queries.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The blend between studying at University and practical work experience on placement helps develop your skills and perform better in both environments.

For experience of relevant work in the audit profession which is constantly evolving, for which PwC is at the forefront of driving the future of the profession. The best part of PwC is the people, who are great to work alongside.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Be proactive and willing to integrate yourself in a team environment. Show initiative by bringing your own ideas and thoughts when working with others.
