Hours can be very long, and the pressure under tight deadlines can be challenging. But ultimately, it is great work experience and you learn a huge deal which can be applied in many roles going forward. It is a great opportunity to network and expand your career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very well structured, with a placement for a few set months in Years 2,3,4. The exams are well structured and everybody does the exact same modules and exams, meaning that the process is extremely streamlined.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
There is multiple options of support at many different levels. There is a buddy system, a career coach system, as well as mental wellbeing people you can reach out to. Teams are structured so that there are different levels of support. Access to many resources
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Free exam resources which cover the content and past exam questions. Lecturers are trained professionals who dedicate all time towards covering and understanding the exam material. ICAEW provide a huge array of resources which help when working towards the qualifications and passing the 15 ACA exams
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification provides specific, helpful knowledge that is relevant to the everyday work required of the role. The study material and exams couldn't be more specific, covering both audit and accounting standards. There are also specific training days which cover responsibilities and expectations that help better role performance.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are fewer extra-curricular activities during busy season, as there is a lack of free evening time. However there are lots of social activities to celebrate finishing deadlines. There are also sports teams run by people within the company to get involved in easily.

The process allows you to learn and develop as a young professional very quickly, with a headstart to the professional exams/qualification. PwC provide lots of opportunities for growth as you can move around different teams and clients, therefore providing a different work experience
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Be aware that there can be very late hours for a sustained period of time when working towards an important deadline. It can be hard to find a good work/life balance, so it is important to find time for yourself when you can
