Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Filing, preparing various returns for reviews, preparing engagement letters, emailing clients, managing certain actions, updating trackers etc...
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I highly enjoy it! I'm getting on the job experience, meeting loads of new people and getting paid to study for my qualifications.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, lots. My tax technical skills have exponentially increased in the last 6 months and I am learning more and more every day.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I feel it's very well organised. For the school and college leaver programme, you spend most of the time on the job with a few (couple day) blocks where you're in college studying for exams.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot. Particularly from my team, there are a lot of people who joined on the same programme so they're always willing to help and answer my questions!
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
A lot as well. They have personal tutors that are a phone call away or you can email your college tutor if your stuck on anything. The mock exams markers give detailed feedback too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Not a lot right now. I'm studying Personal Tax at the moment and I work in Large Corporate. But I will be looking at the later. Overall I think it is very relevant to my overall skills.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes! They have a lot of networks (I'm in the Christian and Board Games one) like religion and identity etc... They also have team socials and firm socials.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It's an amazing work environment, especially in my team. It can be busy at times but everyone is there to support one another. I get given work and experience as well as paid!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Be yourself, it sounds cliché but its true! If you have good people skills and show a willingness to learn, then you'll at least be considered for the role. They want people who will be a help to their teams and the firm.
