Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I learn a variety of fabrication techniques and skills including welding. I learn about materials sciences and other important engineering topics on my techsert days. I complete onefile to bolster my knowledge with fabrication and welding.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the practical aspects of the course, I would prefer less coursework however.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I can now weld, fabricate with a variety of metals and thicknesses, understand engineering drawings to a better standard.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The structure had a bit of a rocky start with nobody knowing what was going on. It began to improve before Christmas but then there have been issues with lack of space in the workshop.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I believe the support has been adequate and if I was in need of support I think that I could ask for it and receive it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive a good amount of support with the work. I get help when I ask for it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I know more about the tasks I am supposed to do
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I don’t think so
