With the Apprenticeship programme, you are required to develop your KSB's (Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours) that are associated with your degree. When i first started out on my apprentice journey I had 0 KSB's for the role but have learnt new KSB's and have further developed them throughout the years.

The Programme is structured and organised well as we are given plenty of notice to attend the mandatory training as well as given a mentor to check your portfolio progress every 4 months.

Learning the modules at University has better helped me to understand how my role works and provides me the knowledge to better carry out my roles and responsibilities. For example learning about Construction Law in a module has better enabled me to understand how NEC Contracts work and in turn how to administer it.

5/5
There are plenty of EX activities at work such as attending Christmas parties for networking purposes to volunteering opportunities that are hosted through Mace to help the community. For example, I recently took part in volunteering to join a discussion panel event to help promote the construction industry.

Yes
Why?
I would recommend anyone to join Mace as the one word that comes to mind is opportunity. Mace provide opportunities for anyone to start a career and helps you to develop the necessary skills to exceed in your role. They provide opportunities to give back to the community by doing volunteering work. They provide global opportunities to work abroad.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mace?
When applying for Mace it is important to showcase your self in the interviews. Mace are not looking for people with the very best grades, they are looking for people with the right mindset and passion for the industry. Demonstrate why you would like to work for Mace and in the construction industry and more importantly be your self as your personality will shine through. Best of Luck!
