Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I complete tax returns for vulnerable clients and meet harsh deadlines set by HMRC. I also complete terms of business and other housekeeping jobs to keep up with the security level. I email internal clients to find information on my clients as they are the client contact.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have enjoyed getting to know my team as well as developing my knowledge. I love that I have lots of mentors around me to help me with my studies and to teach me the day to day work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt lots of new skills including writing more professional emails and understanding Tax related vocabulary. I have also learnt great team work skills such as effective communication and time management skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The apprenticeship provider is often confusing on what we need to do and don't state things out clearly such as deadlines. The lectures are often 6 hours long and hard to focus on.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support from lots of people. I have monthly 1 2 1 meetings with my manager where she gives me an opportunity to talk about how everything is going and asks if I need any help. I also have a 1 2 1 with the manager of Apprentices to check up on everything.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
I get a lecture every week when I have an exam to study for however they are rushed and a lot of information at once. The steps are not easy to follow and the 1 2 1 meeting every 3 months is very difficult to arrange.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It helps me understand the work I am doing by teaching me all of the rules and laws as well as the terminology used.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
My team often has social activities and lunches. I also have some volunteering days and can join professional networking events.
