Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am moving around different departments at UKLC which i think is great as it means that i get to try multiple job roles and gain more experience. I have worked with the training team and now i am working with the quality team. I helped the training team digitalise their record and now working as a claims analyst with the quality team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love it. I think apprenticeships are great and feel incredibly lucky to have gotten this one. Truly a great company to work for: I am given enough responsibility to feel like a member of every team i have worked with, I am treated as an adult. I feel like I have already gained more experience than i ever would have if i went to college or stayed at sixth form.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have learnt how to use various Microsoft packages which is incredibly useful, I've become a lot better at communicating with people both internally and externally to the business, and I have become a lot better at presenting with confidence and just overall talking to groups of people.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

As i am the first apprentice at UKLC it's a bit of a learning curve for the company, however I am moving round departments to get different experiences, and my opinion and what is needed to get the qualification is greatly considered when deciding what department i am to move into yet. My colleagues have massively supported me with college work and making sure i am getting the training hours and learning I need.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received massive amounts of support from everyone i have worked with so far - they have ensured that there is training in place to i can meet the required hours needed for my college course, they have listened to my opinions when deciding which department is best for me to move to next and immediately made me feel like a proper member of the team since day 1.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I feel as though i could receive better support from rugby college - for my first assignment it took 4 months to complete as my assessor would only review it once a month and i felt as though the comments given could've been more constructive. Overall, i don't feel its terrible but could be improved some
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

As i haven't received my qualification yet and I'm only 7 months into my apprenticeship, i don't feel as though i could answer this question adequately however, to achieve my qualification, there is a lot of criteria i need to cover, which means i am moving around departments gaining more experience, which i believe will greatly help me in the future.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are, i believe there is a company football team, and there are networking events scheduled regularly which are optional to attend, but they all support different groups of people and seem to be very popular.

Would you recommend Cummins to a friend?

Why?
It's an incredible company to work for. The employee benefits are great, the company really does put it's employees first. I would also absolutely recommend an apprenticeship at Cummins as i believe apprenticeships are the way forward, you are still learning but also gaining a ton of experience and earning, which is great when you're young and Cummins is a great company to do that with.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cummins?
Be yourself! The interview process was a lot less stressful than any other i had experienced - there wasn't loads of pressure to give the perfect answers. I was instantly put at ease when i saw how friendly the people interviewing me were, I felt as though i didn't have to make loads of stuff up to impress them as they were very understanding of the fact that i didn't have loads of experience or lots of skills that most companies would look for, because i am still young and had only just left school.
