Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I run projects within the Retirement Advice Centre. I review processes that are completed day to day and make suggestions on how they could be improved. I then run the projects to make these changes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme. I think it's such a good opportunity to learn to skills and make connections that i wouldn't have previously be able to do.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt good time management skills throughout the apprenticeship which i can use going forward. I've also learnt a lot about how projects run and the different project types.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Overall i think it's okay. I think that because we were the first cohort the organization took a little while to get going however over time it has improved.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received a massive amount of support from every placement manager i've had. They have always been massively supportive of the programme and have provided me with a great working environment.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The support has always been good from LIBF. Any queries ive had have always been quickly resolved and they have always been easily reachable when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think there have been some transferable skills from the LIBF learning to my role. A lot of my placements have been in line with what im learning through LIBF so it's been helpful
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have volunteer days where we go out and help the community. We have also had various wider team meetings which are a good opportunity to meet people across the bank

It's a great company to work for. They really care about your progression and I honestly feel supported in everything i do.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HSBC?
Just be confident within your interview. even if your examples dont relate to banking just try and portray the skills you utilised.
