My role involves testing new and upcoming products to make sure they comply with specific standards that all our products have to comply with before they can be released into the market. It also involves compliance testing, which is testing current products in the market to ensure they're meeting the required standards.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme is very enjoyable and I'm always learning new skills which is very important as an apprentice. The programme can be challenging sometimes but its enjoyable knowing you are working towards an end goal.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills while at Schneider. I have learned how to do many different tests on electrical products which before working at Schneider I had no knowledge on. I have also learned lots of skills at college. 2/5 days a week I go to college so I'm constantly learning new skills in engineering.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme didn't have the best of starts as I started college late due to being placed on the wrong course. But the apprenticeship team and my manager sorted this out very quickly and efficiently to put me on the correct course. Now my programme is very organized and structured and there are no issues with it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from my employer and can get help from lots of different people if I need. for example, the apprenticeship team are always happy to help, also my manager is always in the office and available to help, and also people working within the office which can support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support when in college and the lecturers are always happy to give tips and help. The only issue with college is that the workload is high meaning I have to complete some college work in work time or in my own personal time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps me perform better in my role as its giving me basic engineering knowledge. I need this in order to understand how Schneider products are manufactured for example.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are sometimes things going on in the office, for example maybe a Christmas buffet or a social meetup in the office. and there was also a networking event that took place in Coventry with all of the apprentices.

Schneider is a very good company to get into and there are lots of different opportunities.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Schneider Electric?
Don't be shy to ask questions. as there can be a lot of things which are confusing and if you don't ask questions you wont ever understand it.
