Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I design new parts and update older ones. My job at the moment mostly includes assisting fully qualified designers with bigger projects. But after I gain enough skills I will be given full jobs/tasks to do
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I very much enjoy my apprenticeship. I feel like I've learnt a lot and grown a lot since joining the company.
My only problem is that my education side of the apprenticeship has been too easy but I've only just started so that should change

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I've learnt a lot about internal procedure eMCNs, BOMs and amending old/new drawings

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The college is very structed and has a set in place plan and order to it.
At work tasks are given as and when is needed but there is a specific plan or procedure but I think with the nature of the role that it's quite fitting
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The people here are very understanding. This was my first job so I had a lot of nerves joining but I received a lot of support from my colleagues and feel like I've really become a part of the team
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
They much prefer people to move as a class and won't let me individually progress much if at all. I've already done the first module which is why I find it easy but hopefully that will all change on the second module
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I don't think I'm far enough through my training to see a big difference but I can see the application of some of the stuff I've learned so far and the future modules sound much more fit for the role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I haven't seen many at my local plant but the bigger company has a Apprentice Social Committee

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Schneider Electric to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Overall I have very much enjoyed it and feel as though I've grown a lot and learned a lot from my time here so far and look forward to a long career here
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Schneider Electric?
Don't worry about the new environment and people, ask questions and try speak to as many people as possible
