Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is to move across various rotations across the business where i will gain knowledge and skills in many different areas of engineering, from mechanical and electrical engineering applications, to manufacturing engineering as well, whilst attending college 3 days per week (first year) to complete my qualifications and training
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I get great satisfaction from the practical work i do whether that be at college in training or when i am on site in training also, i really enjoy learning and getting a deeper insight of engineering and how important it is for essentially everything that we do, the training has been made so that learning and applying the knowledge you have gained is encouraged and it is very rewarding

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have greatly expanded my knowledge of practical machining and fabrication through training at college, i have learned a lot about engineering and the various fields within it and I feel that I have gained insight into how much work goes into running a business of large scale in an engineering industry

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I found knowing what i need to do and what is expected of me to be usually clear and easy to understand but I also feel that sometimes we are a bit overwhelmed with the way we are expected to complete training documents or the timeframe we have expected of us, especially in the first year when we spend most of our time with the training provider completing other projects.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I feel the support from my employer is there and the communication between myself, my managers and my mentors is open and clear, and I feel I can ask them questions if i am confused or I need any further assistance with training or completing a project, it is well balanced communication between the company and the training provider.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I feel the training provider does everything they need to to help us as learners, they are very good communicators who usually get back to me straightaway if i have a question and they are help to help you with anything you may be struggling with, they put thought into their training and they make it fun and engaging.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualifications provided through the training provider go hand in hand, with what we are learning in the workplace and they help us towards those goals by providing the knowledge necessary to participate in different roles within the company and the different tasks being asked of us as we move around
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
the company has a volunteering program that allows you to participate in various different activities within the workplace and off site as well, such as charity work, STEM fest and gardening to name a few of them, everyone is welcome to participate and it is encouraged within the company, i am eager to partcipate as there ae many avialable
