Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Cad design work, project management, ergonomic assessments, creating Microsoft PowerApps, implementing improvements throughout the business weather this be signage or moving a heating system
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the program I am committed to as it is not too long of an apprenticeship, there is always change with in the environment you are working in also so there is always something new to learn.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, all the skills i have learnt have been created and developed within Cummins

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The apprenticeship is well organised with a plan in place before you begin, unique to each pathway there is a Rota to follow to build up the basic knowledge and progress with and through your Rota. As well with the college being clear on the forward plan, ensuring the student has the best experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Support is always there if need with our own occupational health team, apprentice structure where you are allocated a mentor, while also being able to fall on managers, and other apprentices. Also available through college if required.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Always on hand, as much as required
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel the qualifications you receive have to relate to engineering manufacturing as a whole so a broad knowledge is gained whereas when in a final placement, the type of engineering can be quite niche meaning not much applies to the course. But i feel for a general course it provides the right knowledge
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I organize, manage and attend careers events. Health and wellbeing classes are available also

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Cummins to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Overall it is a great and global company with a great reputation. With endless opportunity to someone who is willing to put in the work and i cannot knock my experience at all so far
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cummins?
Work experience is a good method of getting an impression made and voice your interests, where you can also apply for the apprenticeship with a paper copy which most do not, this also differs you from the rest. Just try and stand out the most and put your best foot forward.
