Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I support a relationship manager in assisting customer queries and lending propositions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy it. All of my colleagues are super supportive and encouraging.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have developed my teamworking skills, problem solving skills, and learnt to be a trusted advisor in the financial sector

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is fairly structured and very organized. Each day is different in my role so it makes it harder to structure the training, but that is what keeps it interesting
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive loads of support. I have a check in with my line manager every week and a 1-2-1 every month
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training provider sets up check-ins about every 8 weeks but are sometimes cancelled at short notice. The support could be better at BPP.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It definitely helped at the start by giving me a good amount of background knowledge I wouldn't have been exposed to by my employer, but after about 6 months I would say this is less relevant.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are lots of networking events that are listed on weekly emails twice a week. My team also have a meeting every week where we do a 'Friday fun' session and sometimes we will go out for a lunch together. Every quarter we collaborate with another team and do a social event, such as an escape room.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because we are all treated fairly and given equal opportunity. It is also a positive environment, no one comes to work in a bad mood. Everyone is friendly and happy to support you.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Don't be scared to put yourself out there. I can from an opposite background and wasn't sure if I would fit in, but once I was here I felt comfortable straight away
