Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My day-day involves attending daily stand-ups, attending project meetings, setting goals and completing gpl training, working as a DevOps Engineer, I would complete tickets on our JIRA board, build and maintain pipelines.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I still feel like I don't know what I am doing at times, like everything moves very fast, lots of discussions but i do enjoy the environment and when I do understand something it is very enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
Communication and collaboration skills, proactive

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Not that well structured it's very hard to fit into a team where everyone knows everything already and you feel like you don't know enough to participate in all discussions or even ruin the flow of the conversations, when i do learn something it sometimes feels like it's not enough.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
Yes I do receive some support but no ones really teaching me everything that's happening they just expect you to listen to conversations and be updated.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive adequate amount of support from my training provider.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
They do teach good things, not too difficult and the practical sessions really help.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes, you can get invited to events sometimes that other companies may host, because you are an Apprentice, but the company itself so far have not hosted anything in house really yet.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It's a nice place to work, salary is decent, but sometimes it's very fast paced and it can get very hard to speak up and reach out for help as an apprentice, especially when you are the only apprentice on your team.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Tips and advice I would give is as an apprentice is Natwest really value people who have morals, principles and someone who aligns with their values and cultures as a company they are always looking for people who have aspirations and want to achieve. Connecting with people is very important, attend events, and try to maintain a good open relationship with your manager where you are able to reach out for support.
