Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Invoicing Risks, Managing Accounts & being broker support
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I enjoy the work related side, but the apprenticeship work area is way too much to balance with the work side, which has led to a number of clashes and falling behind which I have not joined at all.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
My insurance knowledge has increased rapidly, as well as learning the Lloyd's market standards & the way to conduct business.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
No well organized at all. We barely ever have contact with our tutors, he push us to make unrealistic targets which are not possible with our normal working roles.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
I receive plenty of help from my manager who has helped me very well along the way, whereas the early careers team, have never actually contacted me to ask how my work has been going etc.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
1 call every 2 months, which is not good enough. Other than that I hear nothing else from our training provider.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
Insurance qualification is helping my role in certain ways but some of the exams we are being made to complete feel a little bit out of a school leavers range of knowledge being new to the market, and the apprenticeship work is pointless for my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes, we have plenty of committees & sports teams available for all colleagues, but I feel like there is a lack of advertisement of these activities around the company although we have these things available.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Aon to a friend?
No
Why?
I would recommend working purely for Aon [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], but I would not recommend the apprenticeship program at all. It is poorly planned, with little to no contact throughout the course.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aon?
Apply for a trainee role and do your insurance exams on the side, do not sign up for the apprenticeship program, it seems like it has been rushed, and not well thought of.
