Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a Teaching Assistant I am expected to provide support in the classroom for both the teacher and the students. I observe, assess and safeguard our students as well as plan activities and track progress. I particularly love doing phonics interventions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It has been a great opportunity and allowed me to figure out that working in a school is definitely where I want to be.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed more tech skills in regards to accessing and navigating applications and using excel spreadsheets.
My people skills have improved due to building professional relationships with staff, guardians, outside agencies and the students themselves.

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It was very well organised and structured. I had meetings with my tutor at least once a month. I had two tutors over my course; both of whom were excellent and always ready to answer any questions I had, even outside of meetings.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Communication wasn't great between inspire ATA and my placement and I never received anything from Inspire officially telling me my apprenticeship is over. This is nothing to do with LMP though, who have done plenty to support me in my role and getting me ready for my EPA.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Everyone has always been helpful in answering questions and getting me ready for assignments.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel more confident and find that I am more knowledgeable about certain aspects of the job than others who have a bit more experience. I am now one of the go-to people to train up new staff members.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Would you recommend LMP Education to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It's been really helpful to me and I think it would be a great step for anyone trying to figure out if they want a job in education while getting experience and building up knowledge. I felt well supported by them.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to LMP Education?
Manage your time. Keep on top of your research. You get out as much as you put in. It's a great opportunity so long as you put in the effort as well.
