Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
Communicating with clients to obtain information and resources relevant to the audit process.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
I appreciate the programme, but find the knowledge and competency required to fulfil the role excessive.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
My understanding of Microsoft Excel has also increased.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
I would state it has been an effective structure thus far, though the juxtaposition of expectations between different staff members is clear.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
As an employer, EY provides substantial support - especially through external resources they provide for wellness.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
In a practical environment, I would suggest it is not so beneficial.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Why?
The role I conduct is attractive to specific interests, so I would not imply that this role or EY is appropriate for all people - as the work and environment is unique from many other employers.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
During my virtual role-play interview, I was surprised to see people fail because they failed to put teamwork above personal ambition. Communication, respect for others, and a collaborative spirit will help.
