Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Across the three days, the firm provided talks, interactive workshops and Q&A panels to give students an insight into life working in law and at DLA Piper. Talks were by different speakers each time across a range of offices from around the world.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The firm provided an overview of some roles available. Being such a large firm, it would be impossible to provide a complete overview but the information provided was as comprehensive as possible within a three day scheme.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
The programme has increased my commercial awareness dramatically and provided me with the tools to further build on this beyond the programme. Hearing first hand from the lawyers on their experiences allowed for a greater understanding of the skills required within a firm of this stature.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The general atmosphere at the firm was very upbeat. It was fantastic to meet likeminded students with similar ambitions and as we got to know each other more, the atmosphere only improved.
The culture was incredibly supportive and the Early Careers team were always available to provide assistance if required.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight and would urge anyone considering applying to the insight programme in the future to do so. It was an extraordinary three days and one which will assist me massively as I progress my legal career.
