The work experience involved working within the audit department at PwC, you really get just thrown in at the deep end; straight into client work and working within your team. However, it's made easy as you get coached by more senior members whenever you need.
To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?

Overall it was an enjoyable time, I tried as much as I could to fully embrace the working life and culture that PwC offers. Everybody who I spoke to was incredibly welcoming and would always offer to help. PwC are big believers in hybrid working which is also a very beneficial thing.
How well organised was your work experience?

It was very well organised with constant emails, which are easy to understand and gave me a clear timeline in my head about what was happening next. I was given multiple different contacts to speak to if or when I required.
How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?

It definitely paints a clear picture in my head whether I want to work in this line of work, I benefited from speaking to other employees that have worked in different lines of work and getting their advice on what audit and assurance work really involves and the long term work that would be involved with that.
Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?

Yes I was paid at the end of each month of work. Also if I worked over the 37.5 hours in a week then I was able to charge overtime and be paid accordingly. When/if going to a client the expenses are all paid for such as the hotel, travel, evening meal. I also received accommodation during my placement which is paid for by PwC.
Skills Development
What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?

Before the work commenced, there is a 2 week training programme which goes through how to work with the PwC software and also the knowledge and procedures that are used at PwC. During work I was constantly learning through the coaching that I received and also the many e-learns that have to be completed during the placement.
Company Culture
How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?

I definitely learnt lots about the culture, it is really ingrained into you during training and whenever I speak to someone about PwC the culture is very reputable. Working at PwC is a very calm environment with people that are willing to help, making it very much a team environment.
Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
5/5
There are many opportunities to network whether it is the many social events that are put on, or just speaking to someone in the offer on your desk or at lunch for example.

Why?
The flying start degree programme really allows you to get the best of both worlds as you get to go to uni and experience everything that comes with that, but then you also also get great work experience and learn extremely valuable skills
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Make sure you do your research and look at what the work actually is, and whether that suits you and what you want to achieve.
