As an aerospace engineering apprentice at Rolls-Royce, my role involves assisting experienced engineers with the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft engines. Every day, I work closely with the team to do research, assist with prototype creation, and analyze performance data. I take part in project meetings, produce technical reports, and collaborate with others to find solutions to issues.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have had a lot of fun in my apprenticeship program at Rolls-Royce. Having the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace projects and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies is immensely satisfying. The challenging nature of the work keeps me interested and inspired, and the friendly and collaborative work environment fosters both personal and professional development.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My problem-solving, communication, and cooperation abilities have all increased as a result of working on projects with more seasoned engineers. The foundational concepts of aeronautical engineering, such as aerodynamics, propulsion, and materials science, are now better understood by me. Additionally, I have improved my technical proficiency in CAD, data analysis, and engineering simulation.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Their support is crucial if I are to be successful in earning the qualifications I need for my apprenticeship. They provide comprehensive training materials and instructional tools that adhere to the requirements of the curriculum. There are standard communication channels accessible to ask questions or obtain assistance. The training provider gives tests, gives guidance, and provides performance feedback to make sure I meet the requirements.
