Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

i have to prep, cook and serve different types of food at a specific brand standard to spec to our guests. this includes setting up the kitchen, prepping all the veg and defrost for the day, reading and cooking a ticket how the customer wants, serving it so spec and then closing down at the end of the day
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i enjoy it a lot it's taught me a lot of valuable every day life skills that i'll be able to take into my life as i grow older it's also just a fun job i always look forward to going into work and getting to do it
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i've learnt to better communicate and work as a team. you have to be able to talk to one another to be able to decide what needs putting on still or what you've done already or what you need the other chefs around you to do to complete the dishes

How well organised/structured is your programme?

it's really organised i'm able to keep track of the things i'm falling behind on or i'm doing good on and it's layed out so it will just tell me which things i've got yet to complete so i can focus on those instead of trying to work it o ur nyself
How much support do you receive from your employer?

i receive grea support, they're always there if i need to do some work and need to leave the kitchen to look stuff up on the computer or they'll get me hooked onto courses and talk to other pubs about doing work experience so i can help persue it morw
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

a lot of support she's great at making me try to stay ontop of all my work when i fall behind and she lays out eveything j need to do in such a simple way it's easy to work it out and hopefully stay on track with it
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

it's helped a lot especially with the online classes as it's providing me with stuff that i wouldn't usually learn in my job role and it's helping me bring things into the kitchen at work that some people in there aren't even aware of until i mention it
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

not yet but we have a new buffet menu now so possibly i'll get involved in that once we start doing them bigger as they'll require more team effort into making sure everything gets done for them. we also have some team meetings coming up where i can provide some of my ideas

Yes
Why?
it's a good work environment and they're good to they're employees. it often feels not like work wnd you don't even feel the time passing by some times. it provides you with a lot of basic life skills that could help you further down in life
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Marstons?
it can often times get overwhelming when busy so make sure you can some what handle some stress and a heavy work load as some times there isn't a lot of time to think about how stressful it is and you just have to get on with it so be able to handle that
