Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Me and the team I am working with deal with multiple types of requests which encompass a wide variety of tasks and also heavily involves making and maintaining Web applications for internal use. It also involves going into multiple meeting with a wide variety of other employees of various positions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Compared to my previous educational experiences this is a massive step up for a handful of reasons which i shall not get into but the most important being that I have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of things without feeling bottle necked into one or two things only.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned MVC (Model, View, Controller) and it's integration with .NET6 (and .NET5), I have also passively gained social skills over time due to being in an open office. I have significantly improved on my front-end skills in web development mostly in CSS and Razor in Visual Studio.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The organization is very mismatched. The training days are spread at what seems to be randomly with either single day Fridays or whole week "courses" with one already been delayed for random reasons last minute but the Training days that the work place organizes is auto-placed in the Outlook Calendar.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
They offer a full range of support with almost whatever i ask (within reason). I can contact them though multiple means (mainly through Slack and Teams) they also check up on me and want to see my progress in multiple areas almost daily. We also have dedicated well being meetings.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
They forgot that I was even in the course and whenever I try to contact them though multiple means they do not respond unless I bring it up multiple times in person. Although they are not hostile or passive aggressive by any means this has caused several frustrations throughout the course so far.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
They like to reinforce what I have learned during the course through multiple essays and me needing to go to the local training centre can be a nice change of scenery and IN PERSON when I need anything they are happy to clarify and help when and where they can.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Lockheed Martin UK like to host CodeQuest, CyberQuest and CodeAcademy are the main ones that encourage people at a young age to get into coding. Staff are encouraged to help out and/or be judges for these events. If people do go to these events they get special appraises on our platform which has the chance to give you extra rewards.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lockheed Martin to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a very open and welcome atmosphere and is a company that offers and helps you grow your skills not just internally but also for your professional career. Not to mention the heavy brand recognition that comes with the company in the industries that Lockheed like to dip their toes in.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lockheed Martin?
Link all of your hobbies to a skill you need for your selected field you apply to. All of the obvious interview stuff like dressing appropriately and showing up early, pleases and thank yous and the like. Try and take initiative in group tasks and activities to give you the best shot.
